What it takes to sell Victoria Wax

Not everyone's cup of tea

Well almost everyone. Demographics show that about 1 in 10,000 individuals will ever enjoy Victoria Wax products.

That's all. But, in the hands of those few people the products are treated as that of a revelation of a biblical proportion.  And for us at Victoria Wax we appreciate it very much.

the truth

Here is the truth. Victoria Wax products are a hard sell item. For one reason only, the labor-intensive regime that is required to activate that gorgeous look is too much for mere mortals to handle.

The only persons that would enjoy the products to the fullest would be someone who appreciates the end results and at the same time gets a benefit from the work-out.

33 thousand

By our figures, that means that there are about 33,000 potential customers in the North American market. To add to the dilemma is the fact that there are 3 or 4 other companies eyeing that same market.

With those figures, not enough for the mass marketers of the world to ever get interested in. The figures for mass appeal are not there, making Victoria Wax a very poor investment.

For anyone wishing to make a fortune, it would be a complete waste of a person's time, not to mention the huge waste of money.

tough sell

For anyone wishing to sell Victoria Wax products it will be tough to tell a customer that they will have to give up 2 or 3 hours every month and work up a sweat to keep their car looking great. And, that is only if they get good at it.

be cautious of your passion

Over the years Victoria Wax has been introduced to many people who have approached us with plans of marketing Victoria Wax products to the world.

To them, the discovery of our little gems would be a natural money maker, a sure thing. Finally products that work. Thoughts of spreading the word of how good the products are would be easy just because it does the trick.

Unfortunately, not everyone thinks the same way. The bulk of people just don't see their cars and finishes as something to take care of like a fine piece of art work.

here is the facts

10 years ago Victoria Wax put together a program of designing products that would catch the attention of the few true car enthusiasts who would benefit from really good products. Our name should of had Turtle or Snail in it for how slow it takes us to reach some of those 33,000 individuals.

moral of the story

While we at Victoria Wax enjoy the reactions of customers using our products for the very first time, our dreams and expectations are firmly planted in reality.

We look to long term working relationships with all our Retail Dealers. We understand those individuals with the passion for the automobile and the use of good products is paramount.

the realities are

·Victoria Wax products can't be sold worldwide.

·Victoria Wax products are only for a special few people.

·Those few people have a natural gift for excellence.

·There is no Excellence Club where you can find these people.

·There is no Excellence Magazine that they all read.

·There is no one guru who knows them all.

and finally

·Word of mouth, friend of a friend and very high-ended oriented automobile service businesses are the only ways that Victoria Wax gets around.

conclusion

Until there is discovered a more efficient way of marketing Victoria Wax products to a more receptive market, we recommend to anyone wishing to become a Retail Dealer to follow a few hard earned tips to a reasonable success.

·First, start small by getting to know the full line of products, inside and out;

·Second, be selective of potential customers, work with those who would best benefit from the use of the products;

·Third, perform a, hands on, small demonstration for the customers, in groups would be ideal;

·Fourth, ask for the sale, if you know the products, have the right customers and did a great demonstration you have just completed the process of where 99% of all Victoria Wax sales originate from.

how do you gauge the success ?

The repeat business is the success. It  is always easier the 2nd & 3rd time, but it takes a long time to come around. A jar of wax lasts a person about 5 years, a bottle of soap lasts about 1 year etc...

cost compared to time

Victoria Wax publishes both Retail and Dealer costs on the website. We don't believe that the costs are relevant compared to that of time involved. If time was added into the equation, a jar of wax would cost well over $100.
